This March, I was able to deliver over 30 children's quilts to Bridges,
Inc. in Nashua, NH, for use in their shelter! WOW, just look at the
pile!! That's the most ever, bringing the total since we began to over
100 (not sure of the exact number, I didn't keep track in the first few
years...).
Anyway, a huge THANK YOU to all the wonderful folks who donated
time and materials to make this year's effort such a success. Lots of
our customers and friends, and even our local Brownie troop made
blocks, and took kits home to assemble and tie - we could not have
achieved this number of quilts without all your contributions - many
thanks to you all!
And there are a few folks who deserve special recognition.
For donating a huge box of backing fabric, thank you Suzanne W.
For providing lots of completed tops, ready for tying and binding, thanks to Susan S., Sue L., Clarissa D., and Cindy H.
On Super Bowl Sunday 2006, we had a terrific little group working in the
classroom, assembling tops and tying a whole bunch of quilts. Thank you
Marsha S., Joanne P., Linda A., and Julie G.!
For quilting, tying and binding so many pieces, special thanks to Sue
L., and extra special thanks to Marylin G. - you really went above and
beyond the call, bringing in a BIG pile of completed quilts.
As you know, we donate these children's quilts to Bridges Inc., in
Nashua, NH. Bridges is a non-profit agency dedicated to helping victims
and survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Bridges offers support
and options to individuals who need to talk, need information, or feel
alone, afraid, or hopeless. For more information about the services
they provide, please visit www.bridgesnh.org. |
